Defying Gravity!

Here is the very first ball of hand-dyed yarn I've ever made *grin* It's pure silk, unbelievably soft, and beautiful. It's a very shiny blue/green/silvery mix and is stunning. We call it Defying Gravity, in honour of both its colours and witchiness, and that it represents a new period of creativity for Elana and I, and we're breaking out of traditional 'workaholic or invalid' modes and trying to find our own path. Wish us luck!

With the flash, the shine was quite intense, so it's a tiny bit darker than it looks on the light picture, but a lot lighter than the one without the flash :-)

Wow, that turned out so beautiful! I love that colorway and the shininess of the silk - gorgeously perfect! Can't believe this is your first time dyeing - maybe there's still hope for me... I'm intimidated...
What will you be making with this?

I'll be making the knitted Cardigan Wrap from StitchDiva :-) (http://www.stitchdiva.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=SDS-017) So far it's knitting up really pretty, and it's so soft! I was a bit scared too, but it's really worth having a go at, even mistakes can look really pretty!

Soo pretty! I wish I knew how to dye yarn, but will learn in the future once I get the courage and time!!! Are you going to dye more yarn?

Hi Ms. Aberdeen! Thanks again for your comment over at KH... about my niece. Your yarn is BEAUTIFUL! Those are my favorite colours, blues and greens. I have so many things that I've knit with them. I've been meaning to try dyeing and never get around to it! One of these days.
Also love that washcloth. (another thing I've been meaning to try!)
cheers, Vic

Hi! It's Vic from KH!
Your yarn is gorgeous, those are my favorite colors! I've been meaning to try dying for 2 years and never get around to it. Also the washcloth, I just love that.
That is such a cool technique I've really got to do that too.
all for now, cheers (P.S. I love Scotland, visited Inverness but never got up to Aberdeen)
